Ethical Investment

Ethical Investment

Overview of investing in the ethical funds

Oscar Wilde once asked "what is in a name?" and 'ethical' investors would do well to ask just the same question. Investors and journalists have in the past been very absorbed by how different 'ethically screened' funds compare to conventional funds and how this impacts performance. But investors need to look beyond the name of the fund and the criteria that the fund manager sets, in order to match their values with their investments.

An Investment Manager's philosophy is more important than the jargon associated with the fund, not just on a 'values basis', but to ensure 'values based' or 'ethical' investors are not missing out on one of the great investment stories of the 21st Century – the environment.
